REFLECTION QUESTIONWaterFixing leaky faucets is one of the tasks that we can easily put off until later. Good job on completing this action! How will you use the momentum from completing this action to increase your water efficiency in other ways?
M.A. Alday 12/03/2023 5:50 PMI will make sure to inform and help others keep on the look out for these problems. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNatureHow might spending more time outdoors enhance your brainpower?
M.A. Alday 12/03/2023 5:48 PMBeing outside helped my brainpower by making me more aware of all the living things around me. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
M.A. Alday 12/03/2023 5:30 PMI was able to avoid air travel because my family decided it would be less of a hassle for us to just drive. The airport is very chaotic and can be overwhelming, we also were travelling with two dogs. Thus, driving was easier and better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does food sovereignty address the complex transition from localized food systems to modern global food systems?
M.A. Alday 11/21/2023 10:38 AMFood sovereignty can address access to whole, fresh food on a global scale if everyone helped partake in it. If everyone practiced it we would all be connected by this common ground. Not only is it better for the planet and everything but it helps make everyone more aware. It helps show the true value. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthWhat can lack of access to nutritious food affect a community? How can having access to nutritious food help a community become more resilient?
M.A. Alday 11/16/2023 5:01 PMA lack of fresh, nutritious food can give a person multiple negative effects. For instance if you don’t give your body the required amount of nutrients it can start to crash. Headaches, stomach pains, tiredness, etc. It can cause some very serious health problems, problems that can just be prevented if the person had access to the required food. This is where the impacts happen to the community. If a community has a lack of fresh food, they often suffer from other problems. For example, lack of fresh food, running water, clean water, a good disposal system, etc. A community where these things can be the case is a community in need. These places aren’t healthy for the people living there or the environment around. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportationTake a moment to think of places you frequent often (school, work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
M.A. Alday 11/14/2023 5:39 AMI carpool almost everywhere I go. Everyday to school I carpool to school and to the gym afterwards, then back home. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
M.A. Alday 11/14/2023 5:36 AMKnowing that I am making a difference in a positive way is a very rewarding feeling. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWasteWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
M.A. Alday 11/13/2023 8:29 AMIt's always been a permanent habit to use a reusable water bottle because they are easier to transport. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealthHow can you incorporate other personal values (like quality time with friends or spending time in nature) into your exercise routine?
M.A. Alday 11/08/2023 10:26 AMI can start to invite more friends and family to join me on my daily exercise. Which is why I go to the gym with a buddy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
M.A. Alday 11/08/2023 10:24 AMThis was as you would expect, because as people get richer they can buy more of the food they really want.
