In what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?

I hadn't ever looked into where landfill and other waste site locations are in Portland so this was quite interesting to learn. What I found out is there are about 15 locations in Portland, all of which are located along the perimeter of Portland. A couple on the West side, quite a few up North, and the most being further East toward the Gresham area. This corroborates some other information I came across regarding the correlation between landfill and waste sites located in poorer neighborhoods.

  Hi Sunny,
  I researched where our waste goes, as well. I think the impression I'm left with is how big of an industry it is. There's a ton of shipping involved, Waste Management is a huge business along with so many local businesses, transfer stations and landfills in every town...so much waste to process!
