While waiting for my laundry this morning, I read my book instead of sitting on my phone. In the past I've mostly read before bed rather than in the morning. However, reading this morning helped me prepare for the day, even though I only have one class. I felt like I was able to understand the material better than I have been. Implementing reading more in the morning might be a good idea.

I was not aware until now that using cold water to wash your clothes emits less CO2 into the air and uses less energy. I'm pretty sure that when I did laundry at home, I also used cold water, but I only did that because my mom did it the same. When I began doing laundry at UWL however, I was using warm water, and I'm still not sure why I made the switch. From now on I will be using cold water on my clothes, saving energy and creating less CO2 emissions.

Using cold water has also been seen to decrease the amount of wear and tear on your clothes (and therefore the amount of fibers that enter the ocean)

My daily challenge is to decrease my screen time. With school starting again, it's been hard to not be constantly looking at my computer or phone screen. However, with my love for reading, I've decided to challenge myself to read at least 30 minutes every day to decrease my screen time. Taking a break from looking at a screen was not only good for my eyes, but my mind as well. Reading helps me relax, distracting me from the stress of studying.
