Say No to Plastic Straws

An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 3 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.

On a daily basis, I use straws and plastic bags. Since I started this challenge I have refused plastic straws and had my friends also refuse them. I also got a reusable bag from my house so I do not have to rely on plastic bags anymore. My showers have also been shortened by 5-10 minutes which saves a lot of water as well as not using as much power. Having a reusable bag is better than a plastic one because I don't have to keep finding new ones and I find it more reliable.

  Yes, you can load them up a lot heavier than plastic bags. You might start to find you need more than one reusable bag too!
