While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

One of the barrier that I was I had times when I forgot my reusable water bottle is I forgot it home a few time and the conveniences of just getting a bottle water during lunch was to easy and made the rest of the better because I had water with me. One way I overcame this is Id make sure I have my water bottle in my bag at night before bed so I make sure I would have it during the next day. The way I could make this a permanent habit is just make it into my night routine to make sure my reusable water bottle is in my bag at night.

Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

On average in La-crosse county the average electric bill is $168 a month last month my apartment electric bill was around $60. This is because my apartment has a emphasis of not turning on the heat as we are a centrally located apartment so get heat from apartments. We also do the best we can to turn lights off and every light bulb in our apartment we changed to LED. Some other thing we can to reduce our electricity usage is shorter hot showers to reduce the amount of water that needs to be heated as well as we could make sure to unplug things that we are not using.

For my Eco Challenge my challenges are to Save water by taking 5 mins showers daily, only using a reusable water bottle, washing my clothes in cold water. Overall the challenges has been going well. In fact with the shorter shower times I find myself having a lot of extra time in the morning to get ready. Then with the cold wash for my clothing I have noticed no difference compared to cold water. The only thing that I have been with struggling surprising only use a reusable water bottle. This is because every location to eat in the union gives you a drink with your meal and I normally always just get the water bottle . I have not gotten into the habit yet of just asking for no drink with thoses meal and just use my water bottle.
