Sean's actions
Waste
Use Reusable Bags
If at all possible, I will not accept any disposable bags when making purchases.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
I will keep 2 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Energy
Switch to Cold Water
I will switch to washing my clothes in cold water, saving up to 133 lbs of CO2 a month and 1,600 lbs of CO2 over the course of the next year.
Community
Help Others
I will offer to help 1 person(s) who are in need each day.
Community
Talk To My Friends and Classmates
I will decide which social or environmental issue in my community is most important to me and tell 1 friends and/or classmates each day about the issue.
Energy
Power Down the Computer
I will power down my computer and monitor when not using it for more than 2 hours, saving up to (1.1) lbs of CO2 each day that I do this.
Energy
Turn it off
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.

Sean Peterson 10/30/2023 1:27 PMI checked off one challenge where you should reach out to a friend, and so I texted a friend from home who I haven't spoken to in a while and it was nice. I've also been trying to power down my computer when I'm not using it as well as my lights. I cant do a lot of the challenges because I live in a dorm but the ones that I /am/ doing are fun and easy but still contribute to society in some way.-
Alysa Remsburg 11/01/2023 8:05 AMJust reminded me to reach out to an old friend too. I think the connection to the environment is joy in simple things rather than consumerism.
