  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity
Mindful eating is healthier for us than eating with distractions. How do your eating experiences differ when practicing mindfulness?

I pretty much already do this challenge unless I go to eat with friends
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water
How can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?

Save on water by not using so much water and if you live in an area with heavy rain you can also collect the rain water itself
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Michael Pollan states that “it is better to pay the grocer (our edit: or the farmer!) than the doctor.” What are your thoughts on this assertion?

I believe its better to pay the farmer since they are the ones providing and growing our foods

I agree as well! The providers of food/ nutrition have a great impact on our health and well-being. By paying for and eating high quality healthy foods, we can improve our overall health and require fewer visits to the doctor and suffer fewer ailments.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

turning off the power before you leave your house, go outside more and enjoy nature and not stay inside all day, etc
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
If you were to only eat what is in season locally from now on, what would be the most difficult food item for you to give up? Why?

    David Sussman (cho 101) 10/04/2023 9:40 AM
I believe that the most effective food if in season would be mostly fruit since fruit has the most effective and helpful for your body
